Interests
Strachan Literary Agency is interested in strong, quality narrative writing, whether fiction or nonfiction: compelling stories, well told. Captivate us. Intrigue us. Tell us about things we've never known, or tell us about something we do know in a new and different way.
For Laura Strachan:
- Fiction: Primarily literary fiction and upmarket commercial. In general no genre fiction, however will consider fiction with crossover potential if beautifully written.
- Nonfiction: Narrative nonfiction, including memoirs and travel writing. Will consider other nonfiction projects if quirky or interesting. Particularly interested in "single subject" books (think SALT, or COD, or MAUVE, etc.)
- Children's: High quality YA or middle grade fiction. No picture books.
Laura isn't interested in:
- Most genre fiction (romance, mystery, science fiction, fantasy, thrillers) unless highly literary
- Children's picture books
- Poetry
- Screenplays
For Marisa Zeppieri:
- Fiction: commercial women's, upmarket, apocalyptic, thriller and YA
- Nonfiction: memoir, narrative nonfiction, investigative journalism, platform-driven nonfiction, diet and health, Christian spirituality, inspriational, food and cookbooks, self-help and humor
Marisa is primarily focused on nonfiction. She isn't interested in:
- historical romance
- erotica
- poetry
